McCormick was founded in 1926 in Amarillo, Texas, by James L. McCormick and is the 10th oldest advertising firm still operating under the same name, according to AAAA. In the beginning, McCormick Company served the oil and cattle industries and was the only advertising firm between Dallas and Denver. Although no McCormick family member has been associated with the company since Mr. McCormick's death, the name has been retained as a tribute to the founder, who was known as an uncompromising perfectionist, demanding taskmaster and astute businessman. To this day, we have little use for either fluff or frivolity, but that doesn't mean we don't have any fun. |
