KC-based McCormick Company is Named Finalist in the
PR News Platinum PR Awards Competition
Kansas City, Mo. (July 28, 2009) — PR News recently named McCormick Company one of six finalists in the external publications category of the 2009 Platinum PR Awards competition for its work on Pioneer GrowingPoint® magazine for client Pioneer Hi-Bred.
With eight issues a year, McCormick custom publishes Pioneer GrowingPoint for the more than 150,000 farmers in the U.S. who are Pioneer customers. Each 24-page issue features the latest information from Pioneer experts and industry sources. The publication incorporates regular columns from The Wall Street Journal and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Pioneer GrowingPoint magazine works in tandem with the Pioneer GrowingPoint® website to provide farmers with the information and services they need as part of Pioneer's commitment to helping them put the right product on the right acre.
McCormick Company Executive Vice President Evan Davies said his firm is honored to be a finalist in the competition, as this recognition reinforces the company's commitment to producing award-winning, results-driven work for each of its clients.

In recognition of the achievement, each finalist will receive an award at the competition's recognition luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Grand Hyatt, New York.
